Darcy Patrie
Director of Business Development
Darcy comes from a blue collar background of farming and carpentry and is a 100% Alberta boy. He grew up in Lethbridge and after completing school, moved to Calgary and has made the big city his home ever since. He joined Servpro in January of 2012 as the Director of Business Development, bringing with him 16 years experience in sales, marketing and customer service.
Darcy’s first sales job was selling promotional coupon books and wholesale items door-to-door, and attests the experience to be the building blocks of his career and where he learned the basics of selling.
He spent the next 13 years in the telecom world. He started as an Outside Corporate Sales Rep and was quickly promoted to Service Manager. After 3 years he transitioned back into a sales role as an Account Manager. He spent the next 9 years selling to a variety of businesses, ranging from small business to large enterprise accounts. “I truly enjoy building relationships with my clients and have made some great friendships throughout my career that I cherish to this day.”
Darcy then pursued an opportunity as a Marketing Manager for a start-up company. It was during this time that Darcy started to question where he was in his career and where he wanted to spend the next chapter of his life. He decided that it was time for a change. Telecom had been a great opportunity and challenge, but after 13 years it was time to try something new, something totally different.
That’s when the opportunity at Servpro presented itself and Darcy eagerly joined the team. He has immersed himself into learning the business. He can be seen down in the trenches with the front line staff vacuuming floors, showing off his carpet cleaning talents or being thrown around by the swing machines. “I am really enjoying learning the industry and have been met with open arms by the staff at Servpro. We have some great people representing our company and doing very hard work for us.”
Darcy is very excited about the new phase of his career and is looking forward to building the Servpro brand and expanding the business, and making Servpro the number one choice for cleaning services in western Canada.
In his spare time you can find Darcy around a fire, sitting on a cooler with his guitar and laughing with his friends. “I am very much a small town boy in the big city. I think people know that what you see is what you get and that my word is my bond. I am looking forward to a long and rewarding career with Servpro.”
