4 Green Ways to Dispose of Your Pumpkin After Halloween
Servpro is all about the environment, and so here are some suggestions to keep your pumpkin out of the landfill when it comes time to dispose of it.
Compost It
Break the pumpkin into pieces and add it to your compost bin. If you don’t have your own compost pile, ask your friends or neighbours, or perhaps the local community gardens if they compost. Calgary has a citywide leaf and pumpkin compost program; for more information and drop off locations check here

Picture this: Servpro Cleaning’s fully restored REO Speedwagon is being driven by Servpro’s CEO/President, Fred Edwards, and riding shot gun is Head Coach of Calgary West Soccer Club, Thulio Goncalves. The two lead the way of the young Calgary West Soccer Club’s U14 Tier 1 Santo’s team, who has just returned from Toronto’s Robbie Soccer Tournament. This is the World’s Largest International Youth Soccer Tournament, where they play at the highest level in front of scouts and against teams from around the globe, and they learn what it means to play not only as a team, but as a community. All 15 players are walking behind the truck showing off their new soccer skills, tricks, chants and triumph from the International Tournament. The juxtaposition is of old and new, profit and non-profit, learning from each other and how it’s time to pass on the baton and lead the way for our youth. Servpro Gives Back in the Nick of Time
Servpro reunites the Moore family just in time for the holidays
Servpro News December 21, 2010
Recently, Servpro was contacted by the Alberta Children’s Hospital in hopes of getting their favourite patient home for the holidays. The Moore family had only one holiday wish, to have their daughter home for the holidays.
At only 9 months old, the Moore’s daughter started suffering from rashes. After many visits to the doctor, dermatologiss and many specialists it was concluded to be Eczema, an inflammation of the skin’s outermost layer. Treatment was far from successful, and after nearly 2 years, the little girl was hospitalized with a condition that's cause was unclear. Until they discovered the Eczema was being caused by their family cat.
Although heartbreaking the Moore’s placed the family cat in a new home. With the family cat now out of the house, all the Moore’s need is a top to bottom clean. With one parent working the other tending to their daughter and the holidays just around the corner, it was looking like they would need a money tree to afford the type of cleaning to bring their daughter home for the holidays.
Servpro Cleaning jumped at the opportunity to donate cleaning services to the family. A Servpro team was deployed to the Moore’s home, ensuring their carpets, walls, windows and everything else was cleaned and sanitized to the hospitals standards. We are thankful the family will be reunited at home in time for the holidays.
Servpro Local company an industry leader
Calgary Herald October 27, 2010
When Servpro was founded back in 1964, it was with the simple ideal of providing outstanding cleaning services to the Calgary area. Original owner Lou MacEachern was a familiar sight on Calgary streets in his yellow Volkswagen Beetle with a ladder on the roof, and the company quickly grew in size and reputation. Today Servpro, under the guidance of owner Fred Edwards, has become a diversified industry leader servicing both the Calgary and Edmonton areas. Servpro cleans more than 12 million square feet in the Calgary area, with 800-plus employees and at least 35 Servpro vehicles, while remaining committed to health, safety and providing a sustainable environment for its employees and the community. For 2010, Servpro is a winner in the Cleaning/Maid Service category of the Calgary Herald Readers' Choice Awards. Servpro's award-winning cleaning teams are fully equipped with equipment and products to leave your home sparkling clean. They use cleaning products that are environmentally friendly, which means a healthier home environment inside and out. But there's much more to Servpro these days than just its famous maid service. Its business lines have expanded and diversified over the years, and now include carpet and upholstery cleaning, window cleaning, disaster restoration, post-construction cleanup, furnace and duct cleaning, specialty jobs -- and of course, the janitorial cleaning services for which Servpro has historically been known....

Servpro is proud to sponsor MPH Racing for another great season.

The 2010/2011 season started out slow for the team, but was kicked into high gear for the second half. MPH’s racers had top 10 finishes in the last three races of the season. Big congratulations to #39 Brian Bewcyk and #8 Travid MacDonald.
A few 2010/2011 season highlights include:
The 29th Grand Prix de Vermont held in the town of Valcourt, where Travis MacDonald finished 2nd overall and Brain Bewcyk finished in 9th.
The 37th Annual Bonnechere Cup held in Eganville Ontario was another outstanding performance from the MPH racing team, Travis MacDonald finished 3rd while team mate Brian Bewcyk finished just behind Travis in 4th position.
Travis MacDonald took his very first Championship in Beausejour, where he qualified for the 49th Canadian Power Toboggan Championship. He held a lead for most of the race, when he ran into difficulties with his drive belt and was unable to finish. A disappointed Travis would have been the youngest Canadian Champion if he did not run into mechanical troubles.
Servpro and the MPH team are so proud of the amazing season and are please to be informed of his nomination at the Eastern Racing Organization’s Awards night in Cornwall Ontario on April 2nd. Travis MacDonald one of the teams’ racers has turned some heads and getting some recognition for his talent and strides in the sport.
Congratulation to the MPH racing team on their amazing season, our fingers are crossed for Travis to be recognized for his accomplishments this season.
